Do you work from photos or real life?

I work from photos – I don’t want my subjects running away from me! Also children wriggle.

Do you just paint people?

I prefer to paint people, because that’s what interests me.

I have a picture I’d really like painted, could you do that?

I can certainly see what I can do! This is dependent on the level of detail in the photo, and whether I believe it would translate well into a painting. I always try to ensure that the final painting is of the highest quality, and this includes a beautiful composition.

I would like to take some photos for you to work from – any advice?

If you live locally, I may be available to take these photos myself. This is particularly useful if you have an idea of what you’d like in your portrait, but are unsure of how to achieve that look. If you would like to take your own photos, let me know and I can provide one-on-one advice for your specific requirements.

What colour options do I have?

Absolutely any colour! Colours such as blues, greens, pinks and purples work very well, and black and grey tones give the painting a classic feel. If you are unsure of colour, I am always happy to make recommendations of what I believe would suit the subject of the painting.

What sizes are available?

The available sizes are shown below. I am happy to work on larger pieces, however this is subject to additional cost.

How much will it cost?

Portrait prices range from $1000 – $2000 for small/medium sizes, and prices increase as size increases. I am happy to offer a commitment-free quote for your desired specifications. Please contact me for further details.

What are my payment options?

The most commonly used method is PayPal, however I am happy to discuss other methods of payment should they be more convenient. Payment can be made in either a single lump-sum payment prior to commencing work, or as a 20% deposit followed by regular instalments until payment is complete.

How long will it take?

This  depends on the size, detail and nature of the painting, however a firm date will be agreed upon by the client and myself before commencing work. At regular demand, your painting is expected to be complete within 4 weeks.
